“The premier was also shocked that we were not part of the event,” he said.
“He called me and said, ‘Why were you guys not given R50000 by Hlaudi because you are also legends?’ I told him I also had no idea why.”
Penny Penny said he then contacted Motsoeneng to relay his dissatisfaction about the matter, but the SABC boss told him to hold his horses.
“He just said he will look into it because he thought we were part of the money initiative. He said he will try to organise our own breakfast. But we will see… I don’t believe anything he says because he excluded us right from the beginning.”
According to SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago, all the legends were on their list.
But some of them were not invited to the breakfast because the SABC did not have their contacts, while some did not answer their phones.
“It is not fair for them to attack us because we haven’t paid anyone at the moment,” Kganyago said.
